WASTED is a durational collective performance that looks at labour as a framework, an idea, a practice and a focus. The objective is to frame all actions into a general notion of work, questioning its implications and meanings from idiosyncratic, societal and material perspectives. WASTED asks how work life would be if we were to view it through the lense of sustainability and care?
WASTED works through constructing a society within society and by creating its own ecosystem through the actions within. This allows the working group to propose peculiar and joyful ways of looking for meaning in being alive.
The working group comprises of a group of arts professionals from varied backgrounds: artist Anni Puolakka, choreographer and artistic director Sonya Lindfors, dancer Pauliina Sjöberg, performance artist and sound designer Roy Boswell, scenographer Kristian Palmu and multidisciplinary artist Laura Jantunen.
In September, WASTED works in PUBLICS. During the last working week (17–20 Sep) you can watch the group working through the windows of PUBLICS. On Friday 21 Sep you are welcome to join us inside the space. The performance is free of charge and the audience is allowed to move in the performance space without restrictions. We recommend that you spend at least half an hour with us.
