All all all (DK), Konsthall C (SE), Kunsthall Oslo (NO), and PUBLICS (FI) come together to present Scales, a rotating exhibition initiative connecting and exchanging programs across four Nordic art platforms. Scales is initiated by All all all and launches on May 1, 2026, and culminates in January 2027.
While differing in scale, the participating platforms respond to shifting conditions in cultural production, maintaining a shared commitment to political and ethical practices when working with artists across socioeconomic contexts. Developed over the past year, the collaboration fosters artistic exchange and knowledge-sharing, extending invitations within and beyond the Nordic region, as well as it operates within a framework that prioritizes process, anti-hierarchical collaboration, and experimental curatorial approaches. Through Scales, each institution works to expand equitable opportunities for the invited artists while strengthening collaboration as a curatorial methodology.
Scales is artist-centered, focusing on encounters between Nordic institutions and Nordic and international artists, particularly those presenting in the region for the first time. Throughout the project, the artists will circulate among the four partners in an exhibition-exchange format that encourages cross-institutional engagement and the development of new collaborative exhibition formats. The collaboration begins with each institution’s annual program and then transitions into an exchange phase, where artists move between institutions through residency formats and coupling duo exhibitions, sparking new approaches to collaboration, sustainable art practice, and collective visibility. Rather than following a traditional top-down or bottom-up structure, Scales proposes a “trickle-out” model that champions collective work and mutual exchange.

All all all (Copenhagen, founded 2022) is an independent, residency-based exhibition platform. Within Scales, it focuses on residencies and pairing formats, hosting solo exhibitions by Isabella Solar Villaseca (Sweden) and Aske Olsen (Denmark). As part of Scales, Villaseca will undertake a residency at Konsthall C prior to her exhibition, while Olsen will participate in PUBLICS’ coupling program.
PUBLICS (Helsinki, founded 2017) explores an institutional model grounded in “working together” through overlapping collaborations. It approaches “the public” as plural—a concept, a community, and a spatio-temporal discourse. Within Scales, PUBLICS activates its coupling program by presenting Aske Olsen and Cai-Ulrich von Platen (both Denmark) in a joint exhibition. This approach shapes the broader exchange model and reflects the project’s cross-institutional ethos. The presentation is curated collaboratively by All all all and PUBLICS.
Konsthall C (Stockholm, founded 2004) is a public art institution housed in a former communal laundry building. Its program takes a decolonial perspective, focusing on artists working beyond Euro–North American contexts. As part of its annual program as well as Scales, Konsthall C presents first-time Nordic exhibitions by Musah Yussif (Ghana) and Clara Ianni (Brazil). Following their exhibitions, Ianni will present a residency-exhibition at All all all, while Yussif will participate in a pairing – or, coupling – exhibition at Kunsthall Oslo.
Kunsthall Oslo (Oslo, founded 2010) is a nonprofit contemporary art space that also hosts the Assata Library and a risograph café for open-access printing. As part of Scales, it will present a joint exhibition featuring Musah Yussif (Ghana) and Sampson Addae (Norway/Ghana), curated collaboratively with Konsthall C.
Additionally, Scales will participate in PUBLICS’ symposium series Positioning A Symposium on Curatorial Learning in the Nordic-Baltic Region & Beyond this autumn.
Scales is generously supported by Nordic Culture Point.
