We are announcing our public event program for the upcoming months. Please put these dates in your diary as we approach spring and summer. These events are happening across different strands of our programme. More details to follow as the dates approach.
LIBRARY EVENTS
29th March – 5.30pm-7.30pm, Sasha Huber, ‘You Name it ‘ Book Launch
25th May – 6pm-8pm, Kathrin Böhm, ‘Art on the Scale of Life’ Book Launch with the artist and co editors Gerrie van Noord, Paul O’Neill and Mick Wilson.
PUBLICS COUPLING
8th June opening event – Helsinki based artist Maarit Mustonen and London based artist Vlatka Horvat.
Maarit and Vlatkas’colloboration will culminate in a public event, an exhibition and a couple of window installations at PUBLICS for the month of June.
Initiated in 2021, Coupling is an expanding series of curatorial projects, collaborations, or pairings, where two artists/ practitioners are introduced to one another for the first time and show together because of some common concerns within their work.

READING GROUP

Throughout spring 2023 the Reading Group will continue to look at the topic of the voice, sound and language.
From analytical texts to art works and poetry, Reading Group explores the possibilities of writing in a diverse range of forms. The 2023 spring series of meetings will touch upon topics including: the artistic voice, bodily relations to voice and poetic language as a sounding material. The series will culminate in a guest Reading Group session with Artist and Researcher Brandon LaBelle.
Our reading group this year continues to be led by Jo Hislop. Jo Hislop is an artist and producer working across photography, film and writing. Her work explores the nuances and intricacies of sensorial and bodily experience. Originally from the North of England, she is currently based in Helsinki.
Reading groups are open and free to everyone, no previous experience or knowledge of the text required.
