Helsinki based curatorial agency PUBLICS is recruiting a Curator of Learning who will be responsible for the planning and executing of our learning program. Between 2021-2022 PUBLICS is setting up a new initiative, youth advisory board, which offers paid positions for a small number of young people who actively support both decision-making and implementation of PUBLICS program. Curator of Learning will have a key role working with public outreach and connecting with schools, educators, partners and young people across the society. They will have the overall responsibility to plan and implement activities directed towards young people and to facilitate monthly gatherings and meetings with the established youth board.
This task requires experience in education and local schooling systems, an existing pedagogy network within the Helsinki area is considered advantageous. PUBLICS nurtures a dedicated mixed public for our program (ethnicity, gender, sexuality, education, class etc.), therefore a previous experience in working with young people from diverse backgrounds is valued. We hope that as a Curator of Learning you share the interest on how to make the arts and culture more accessible and to involve future generations. Understanding of contemporary art, its ecosystem and different publics will be useful.
